Carol never had plans to go into insurance—it just seemed to happen. In fact, she remembers saying, “I will never…” Fast-forward, she was self-employed, running her own business, and needed health insurance benefits for her family. In 2001, after 20 years in the sales industry, Carol applied to Progressive Insurance and was hired in their commercial auto division as a customer service representative—even though she didn’t even know what commercial auto meant. She thought she’d be selling car insurance.
The first time they mentioned a tractor, Carol thought they were talking about farm equipment. She was with Progressive for five years and was promoted to a sales role for New York—a highly challenging state. She then took a position with Nationwide Insurance as a National Sales Manager for their commercial auto and trucking division. She traveled 80% of the time, covering 17 states training agents about trucking and how to use their products.
In 2011 Carol switched to the other side of the business from insurance company to insurance agency and began a career as a retail agent/producer. She also went from being a road warrior to working remotely from a home office.
Carol has a strong entrepreneurial attitude and intestinal fortitude. She is excited to be part of a growing business and is building her own book of business. She enjoys helping truckers with their insurance. She doesn’t talk down to them but also doesn’t assume they know anything about insurance. They don’t need to; nobody wants to think about their insurance policies; they just want to know they will have the coverage they need when they need it.
Carol is known for going above and beyond for her customers. People often comment on how patient she is in answering questions and taking time to explain coverages. She works hard to get clients the most competitive price in the marketplace and the best product available. She is also known for having a good sense of humor and having fun with customers.

A sales career is about helping people to make decisions they need to make anyway, one way or another. Carol builds much of her business on referrals and has infused her sales career with all of the marketing knowledge she’s accumulated over the years.
Carol was born and raised in the Cleveland, OH area and where she and her husband call home. They have one daughter who lives in Germany. They are avid gardeners, find it very relaxing, and can often be identified as the “plant lady.” Carol’s additional interests include her love for movies, creative writing, acting in plays, and public speaking.
